PATRICK
ROBERTSON
Guitar
Patrick's
interest in bluegrass music began early in life when he started
playing guitar around the age of 11. He was inspired by his
Dad, Jimmy Robertson, his oldest brother, Lane, and bands
such as J.D. Crowe and the New South, Tony Rice, Ricky
Skaggs, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and the Bluegrass
Album Band. Many
local musicians and bluegrass bands were an inspiration along
the way as well.
He
began singing harmony with his sisters, Debbie Poff and Vanessa
Hilton at the age of seven. While growing up his brother Blake
"Doc" Robertson helped to keep Patrick grounded in such things
as sports, hunting, and fishing. He was born and raised in
Giles County, Virginia where he still makes his home today
in Pembroke with his children, Amber and J. D. Robertson.
Patrick
competed in the 66th Annual Galax Fiddler's Convention
and won second place in guitar. His band Canyon River
took second place in the band competition. Before joining
Michelle Nixon & Drive he played in a Floyd County,
Virginia based band, Upland Express and recorded songs
both he and his Dad had written.
Patrick
thanks God and his family, for without them, nothing would
be possible. He give thanks to his Mom because "without you,
there would be no me."
