Michelle
Nixon To Plant Grass in Penn's Woods!
Taking
part in Bluegrass Festival, August 2004
Richmond,
VA - Pinecastle Records recording artist Michelle Nixon, along
with her band Drive, will breeze into Wind Gap, Pennsylvania
on Saturday September 11 to take part in the "Echoes from
the Hills" bluegrass festival at Mountain View Park.
Nixon
& Drive, who recently had their first top ten charting single,
"Harlan", have spent much of 2004's spring and summer seasons
touring the United States and Canada to promote their current
single, "Joan Henry". The single comes from Nixon's first
Pinecastle Records release "It's My Turn".
Pinecastle
recently released a twelve track compilation CD, titled "Michelle
Nixon: By Request", which features a well blended recipe of
music including songs penned by country music legend George
Jones and bluegrass great Lynn Morris. Various cuts from Nixon's
originals collection are also on the project, including fan
favorite "Put on Your Walkin' Shoes, Baby". "By Request" follows
Nixon's "It's My Turn" project and will serve as a musical
bridge for fans eagerly awaiting the group's next CD; tentatively
scheduled for release in spring, 2005.
Upcoming
events for Nixon & Drive include top showcases at the International
Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) 2004 convention as well
as a full touring schedule throughout the fall season including
a Midwest visit to Arkansas' "Turkey Tracks Harvest Time"
and Mississippi's "Legends of Bluegrass and Country Music"
festivals. The tour also involves other Pennsylvania dates
including shows in Hanover and York in November.
