Pinecastle Records
New Single Release - Steel Drivin', May 10, 2004

Richmond, Virginia -
Pinecastle Records recording artist Michelle Nixon will release her new single, "Joan Henry", to radio stations nationwide on Monday, May 17.

"Joan Henry", or simply referred to as "Joan" by the Drive gang, is Nixon's follow up to her debut single, "Harlan", which charted into the top 10 on the Bluegrass Unlimited singles chart. Tom T. and Dixie Hall brought "Joan" to life when they penned the steel drivin' song about the determined daughter of American legend John Henry.

According to the Halls, "Joan", much like Nixon, is filled with the drive to succeed in every aspect of her life. Nixon, who cut the song complete with steel clink effects, identifies with "Joan" on many levels. "I like and relate to 'Joan' because she is a strong woman [besides] the song is fun and catchy!" Nixon says. "It is a huge favorite at my live shows and it was just natural to release it as our next single."

"Joan" is the second of two Tom T. and Dixie Hall original cuts on Nixon's current project, "It's My Turn". The project, which also includes songs written by country music artists Bill Anderson and Steve Wariner as well as Nixon, charted to #12 on the Bluegrass Unlimited albums chart.

Listen for "Joan", Nixon and Drive on radio stations across the country. Look for Nixon to be featured on www.cmt.com (New Voices No Cover) and as a featured artist at this year's CMA's (Country Music Association) Music Festival (formerly known as Fan Fair).
